UiPath Task Mining
See the desktop work
that system logs never capture.
UiPath Task Mining records how staff use their PCs (clicks, keystrokes, switching apps) and classifies it automatically with AI to show how work really gets done. Combining OS event logs and screen captures, it enables detailed analysis by person and team. Linked with UiPath Studio, the automation candidates it finds lead straight into robot development.
What you can do with UiPath Task Mining
-
Automatic activity logging
Using OS event logs together with screen captures, it records clicks, keystrokes and app switching automatically, with no burden on staff.
-
Automatic classification with AI
AI detects where the same patterns repeat, identifying what to automate without relying on intuition.
-
Process Mining integration
Combined with UiPath Process Mining’s system log analysis, it gives a multidimensional view of the whole process.
-
Automation candidates in numbers
Proposes what to automate along with estimated time savings, showing the return in numbers to help set priorities.
-
Privacy protection
Passwords, personal information and the like are masked automatically and left out of recordings, balancing employee peace of mind with data use for improvement.
-
UiPath Studio integration
Automation candidates flow seamlessly into UiPath Studio, taking you from analysis to implementation in one go.
Issues
Even as you make work more visible, do these challenges remain?
Choosing what to automate still relies on interviews and intuition
What to automate is decided from staff reports and rules of thumb, with little objective evidence.
With remote work, what people actually do has become a black box
Work you could once see in person is now hidden, making it hard to know where inefficiencies lie.
The same task is done differently by each person, with no clear way to standardize
Veterans and newcomers work in very different ways, and there is nothing to base a standard on.
UiPath Task Mining solves all of these at once.
Benefits
Find the answers for automation in how work really runs, with ITSO.
Certified UiPath partner
As an official UiPath partner, ITSO provides Task Mining implementation, analysis and adoption support.
Analysis together with Process Mining
We support multidimensional analysis combining Process Mining’s system log view with Task Mining’s view of what people do.
From finding candidates to building robots
We identify high-priority work from the analysis and take it straight into robot development with UiPath.
Privacy and data governance design
We design operating rules covering what is collected, masking settings and how to explain it to employees.
Experience with large organizations
From a small start in one department or site to company-wide rollout, we propose a plan that fits your scale.
Ongoing maintenance and analysis
Ongoing remote support, from continuous data collection and analysis reports to carrying out automation.
Flow
Three steps to go-live, in as little as two months.
-
1
Choosing departments and tasks
2–4 weeksWe agree on scope and privacy policy, and clarify what employees will be told and how the data will be used.
-
2
Agent setup and recording
2–4 weeksA lightweight agent is installed on participants’ PCs to collect data for a set period, with activity logs aggregated so individuals can’t be identified.
-
3
Analysis and automation proposals
2–3 weeksWe analyze the data, classify repetitive work and calculate the time it takes, then propose automation candidates.
Scene
UiPath Task Mining is at work across a wide range of industries and tasks.
-
Accounting
Seeing how matching work jumps between systems
Screen activity in invoice matching was analyzed to identify automation candidates in numbers, which were used to set RPA priorities.
-
Call center
Finding why handling times vary by analyzing operators’ screens
The screen patterns of top-performing operators were made visible, revealing why handling times varied and leading to better training.
-
IT department
Standardizing work by mapping each department’s reliance on Excel
How each department used Excel differently was made visible, separating procedures to standardize from tasks to automate.
FAQ
-
Process Mining analyzes the overall flow across departments and systems from event logs in core systems and SaaS. Task Mining records clicks, keystrokes and screen activity on PCs to show the specific steps people and teams take. Its strength is uncovering manual work that never shows up in systems, such as copying data into Excel.
-
A standard implementation, from choosing departments to data collection, analysis and proposals, takes about 2–3 months. The collection period is adjusted to the nature of the work, and the scope can be widened step by step.
-
Passwords, personal information and the like are masked automatically and left out of recordings. We recommend explaining the purpose and scope to employees in advance and proceeding with their agreement. It is also stated in writing that the data is used only to improve work, never to evaluate individuals.
-
Yes. Automation candidates can go straight into UiPath Studio. If you already have robots, we also analyze overlaps and room for extension in our proposals.
-
Retention period, access rights and storage location are designed to fit your security policy. Using UiPath’s governance features, we help keep data limited to the scope and period you need.
